Allergy Information

We at Polly’s Pancake Parlor do our absolute best to cater to as many
allergy concerns as possible. Here you will find how we handle common
allergies. Please note that any special accommodation that we take for your
allergy will make it take longer for food to come out, so please be patient and
understanding with our staff as we do our best to make sure you have a safe
dining experience at Polly’s. Because of additional food waste and labor there
may be a charge on your bill if we feel it is necessary. Thank you for your
understanding.

Peanut Allergy – If you’re only allergic to Peanuts our restaurant is
relatively safe. We only serve peanut butter on request, and it comes in single
use disposable containers. It is never open in our kitchen or food prep area
and peanuts are never added to anything we cook in our pancakes.

Tree Nut Allergies – We do our absolute best to limit exposure to tree nuts.
We do cook with Walnuts and Coconuts on our pancake grills and waffle irons. We
do not cook with any tree nuts in our kitchen, so things like the Sugar Bill’s
Breakfast, French Toast, Eggs Benedicts, and Omelets are safer options. But we
do bake a Maple Pecan Cheesecake in our bakery and plate in the back. There is
a small risk of cross contamination, even though we do our best to limit any
cross contamination. The types of nuts that will have contact with our pancake
grill are Coconut, Walnut, Pecans, and Almonds. If you are allergic to any of
these, we can cook pancakes in our kitchen. We do ask a few things. First it is
easiest for our staff to limit your pancake choice to one batter. We will do
what we can to make your pancake experience it’s best, but our pancakes can
cook at different times and because it is in our kitchen, there are staff
members handling your pancakes who may not be as experienced as your server is.
By limiting it to one type of batter they’ll be cooked at the same time leading
to better end results. Because we are being as accommodating to all our tree
nut allergy folks as possible, we ask that you limit your add in choices to
blueberries and chocolate chips. We will not cook Coconuts or Walnuts on our
kitchen line.

Dairy Allergy – We cook many products in butter, including eggs, homefries,
and sandwiches. Our pancakes include milk, butter, and/or Buttermilk Powder. If
you have a dairy allergy, please tell your server.  We can make our plain
pancakes dairy free with Orange Juice and Canola Oil. Many of our breads can
contain milk as well, but not all of them so ask your server. As we do not cook
anything with dairy on our meat cooking grill. We can cook your homefries on
that grill that will have canola oil added to cook faster. We offer oat milk as
our dairy alternative for drinks. We can make lattes, etc. with oat milk but
keep in mind that it comes from our bar where we steam regular milk so there’s
a high probability of cross contamination.

Celiac and Gluten Free – We stonegrind flour here, we bag our mixes here, we
have a bakery where we bake our own bread and English muffins. We assume
everything in our restaurant has had contact with flour. We cannot guarantee
anything is gluten free. We offer our own recipe gluten friendly Cornmeal rice
flour pancakes, and we can make you Bob’s Redmill Gluten Free Pancakes if you
want to be extra safe. All our pancakes are cooked on the same surface but
cleaned after each use. If you want to play it the safest, we recommend things
like our eggs and meat as our meat grill is gluten free and our egg pans are
gluten free. Our homefries and our potato pancakes contain gluten. Please note
that our Cornmeal batter and our Buckwheat batter contain white flour and are
not gluten free

Soy Allergy – Soy is used in some of our oil sprays. For example, Waffles
will have contact with soy as the spray we use for them contains soy. We can
make many of our products soy free. We can also prepare products like our
bacon, sausage, ham and pancakes out back on our bakery line and they can be
prepared with butter or canola oil as our staff sees it best. But there is
still a small chance for cross contamination. Some products like our American
Cheese and chocolate chips includes Soy Lecithin in it, so please tell us if
you are allergic so we can check the ingredients for you.

Shellfish and Fish – We do not serve any shellfish or fish products at
Polly’s Pancake Parlor. There are limited ingredients that include it, most
likely the only products that are at risk are soups that may contain
Worcestershire Sauce.

Sesame – Sesame is not included in any of our products at Polly’s Pancake
Parlor. But to be safe still alert your server as it may have come into contact
with a food cooking surface recently.

Onion and other Alliums – We do use onions in a lot of places at Polly’s
Pancake Parlor. So let your server know and we’ll find you the best option
possible. Because onion and other alliums aren’t considered an allergen for
government required food labelling, there’s a chance they could be present in
some of the foods and not listed on the label as an ingredient or spice. If you
truly want to be safe, Pancakes and waffles are your best option as well as
eggs.

Vegan – We can make vegan pancake batter. We do this with our plain batter
by adding Orange Juice and Canola oil. We do still cook this on our regular
pancake grills. We cook many products in butter like our eggs, homefries etc.
We offer the ability to cook these in canola oil but if you do order vegan
homefries it will take a long time to cook so please be patient as your order
could take a long time in the kitchen.

Other Allergies – Please feel free to email us at [email protected] if
you have any other allergies. We’re not always able to respond quickly so
please give us some time. Always bring up any allergies to our staff even if
you don’t think we serve it here just so our staff knows.
